Mitel Networks was formerly known as e-smith, inc.
This new offering aims to bring together Linux-based server software and network-delivered services to provide improved network security and reliability. It combines a secure, robust network server with enhanced functionality that can be provided only via an integrated network-connected service.
ServiceLink customers will receive around-the-clock server monitoring and reports, virus protection with automatic updates, point-and-click IPSEC VPNs, DNS services, and e-mail. Together, these services aim to improve the security, reliability, and performance of the customer's network to levels previously associated with large enterprises.
"Small businesses require an affordable solution that will give them everything they need to create a reliable communications infrastructure, but one that also requires minimal oversight," said Jasmine Noel, director of systems and application management, Hurwitz Group.
"Mitel Networks' approach -- especially the ServiceLink aspect -- allows the systems integrator to offer a low-cost solution that provides additional value by delivering ongoing remote system administration and other valuable Managed Services in a non-obtrusive and highly efficient manner," Noel added.
A three-month subscription to ServiceLink will carry an entry price of $595 and a suggested list price of $175 per month. For the rest of 2001 Mitel is bundling its IPSEC VPN Pack with the Base Pack. ServiceLink is available for purchase immediately but is not scheduled to ship until mid-September.
