Apache 2.0 series includes support for filtered I/O which allows modules to modify the output of other modules before being sent to the client. It also includes IPv6 support and improved scalability by supporting threads and hybrid threads.
Recent changes for Apache 2.0.36 include:
- Close sockets on worker MPM when doing a graceless restart.
- Fix the link to the description of the CoredumpDirectory directive in the server-wide document.
- Allow mod_unique_id to work on systems with no IPv4 address corresponding to their host name.
- Reject a blank UserDir directive since it is ambiguous.
Apache 2 is now released for general availability(Apr 08, 2002)
