HP has integrated Serviceguard for HP-UX 11i with HP Integrity Virtual Machines and announced plans to release a Reference Architecture for Oracle Real Application Clusters for HP-UX 11i.

HP's Virtual Server Environment (VSE) for Integrity got a fuel injection this week.

First, it announced a Reference Architecture for Oracle Real Application Clusters for HP-UX 11i, which will be available next month, Nick van der Zweep, director of Virtualization and Integrity Server Software told us. The reference architecture provides a best-practices guide for dynamically scaling the Integrity server infrastructure when mission-critical Oracle database workloads fluctuate.

HP has also integrated HP Serviceguard for HP-UX 11i with HP Integrity Virtual Machines. Available now with the latest release of HP Serviceguard, it automatically moves the virtual machines between servers in a VSE. HP Integrity Virtual Machines also now enables manual migration of virtual machines, as data can be moved from one node to another, van der Zweep said.

Van der Zweep described virtualization as one of the hottest growth areas at HP, citing 70 percent year-over-year growth within the first half of fiscal year 2006.
