If you're a regular ServerWatch reader, you've probably noticed some changes in the past week. We're repositioning and refocusing several of our columns. Some of these changes are complete, and some will come to fruition in the next week or two.
In short, the column formerly known as Server Snapshots has been renamed Hard-Core Hardware. Drew Robb will continue looking at changes in the server hardware industry, but instead of focusing exclusively on on products, he will provide commentary and analysis on news and trends taking place in the server room as they relate to hardware.
With Brian Proffitt's departure, the venerable Enterprise Unix Roundup rolls on. We are, however, expanding the the column's scope to include operating systems of all stripes. Thus, we are renaming it OS Roundup to reflect the change. ServerWatch feature writer Paul Rubens takes the helm this Wednesday. Look forward to his sharp wit and equally sharp analysis.
What is the Jupitermedia's Linux Web sites' gain is ServerWatch's loss. On Monday, Carla Schroder took over as managing editor of Linux Today, Linux Planet and All Linux Devices. If you eagerly awaited Monday to read Carla's Tip of the Trade, now you will be able to get a little dose of Carla every day.
This sadly, leaves ServerWatch with some big shoes to fill. We are looking for someone who can combine excellent writing skills with technical savvy. If this describes you and you're interested in filling them, drop us a line. We're looking for someone to can write one short, actionable tip every week designed to make the server admin's life easier. Further details available on request.
