Mobile Access Server is designed to enable anyone, from an individual to a small organization to a large enterprise, to become a mobile ISP.
Mobile Access Server will allow service providers to communicate using unlicensed radio technologies. The system manages positioning data and user identification. It also features increased security and billing interfaces.
Initially, the server will be adapted for Bluetooth wireless technology and the WLAN 802.11 standard. The crux of the Mobile Access Server's technology is based on AXIS 9010 Bluetooth Access Point.
Mobile Access Server will be made available to select Axis partners some time during the second quarter of this year.
