Upcoming conference will offer training and onsite certification exams at a fraction of normal costs.

Sun Microsystems announced that it is offering IT professionals an opportunity to obtain training and certification at this year's SunNetwork Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Built on its Java University format, SunNetwork says that it is assembling noted experts on Solaris and Java technologies to provide code-level instruction and preparation for certification as systems administrators, developers, and architects.

The conference training classes include:

  • Solaris System Administrator: Certification Cram Workshop
  • Java 2 Platform: Developer Certification Fast Path
  • Java 2 Platform: Architect Certification Fast Path
  • Web Component Developer: Certification Fast Path
  • Architecting Web Services with Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE(TM))

Prometric, an independent testing organization, will conduct onsite professional certification examinations.

SunNetwork University will be held on September 17, 2002, the day before the SunNetwork Conference begins. A price of $100.00 for any of the classes (up to 70 percent savings from regular costs) is available at SunNetwork, and SunNetwork University is offered only to conference attendees.
