TeamQuest Integrates With Solaris

TeamQuest announced support of Sun ONE, joining other industry leaders in an effort to enable the rapid adoption of open-standards-based, enterprise solutions that deliver services on demand.

TeamQuest's integration with Solaris 9 Resource Manager software may work to reduce the complexity and cost of managing multiple servers and system administrators. TeamQuest Performance Software includes a workload characterization capability to enable real-time monitoring and historical analysis of resources controlled by Sun's Solaris 9 Resource Manager software.

The Solaris 9 Resource Manager software is designed to provide organizations the fine-grained control they need over network-wide resources. And the software should help IT managers manage resources for maximum utilization, meter and monitor resource usage for capacity planning, charge back or billing purposes.

"Customers are able to save time and dollars by relying on a single performance tool within the Solaris environment," said Mike Ellis, TeamQuest vice president of worldwide marketing.

"We are excited about TeamQuest's integration with the Solaris 9 Resource Manager and are confident that the Solaris 9 Resource Manager software will enable organizations to deliver more predictable service levels, reduce service level costs, and increase ease of management," said Surinder Singh, Director of Systems Management Marketing, Sun Microsystems.
