The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) this week announced session and keynote details for ApacheCon US 2002, ASF's official conference and workshop.
The conference is scheduled for November 18 to 21 at the Alexis Park Hotel in Las Vegas, with exhibits running November 19 to 21.
In previous years, ApacheCon has showcased the latest advances in open source projects including Java, Perl, XML, Tcl, PHP, and, of course, Apache. This year's conference features keynotes by publisher and open source activist Tim O'Reilly and futurist Richard Thieme.
More than 35 exhibitors and sponsors will have an official presence at this year's event.
To further attract attendees to this year's show, ASF has slashed the price of ApacheCon registration by up to 60 percent, making general registration now $699.
ApacheCon presentations and panels are designed to keep developers abreast of the latest open source initiatives in a focused, hands-on environment. This year's faculty includes more than 55 recognized and respected industry leaders, including Stas Beckman, Mark Cox, Roy Fielding, Rasmus Lerdorf, Rob McCool, Theo Schlossnagle, Greg Stein, and Jim Whitehead.
In addition to the price reductions, this year all registered ApacheCon attendees will receive a pass to visit the COMDEX Expo area free of charge. Delegates will also be automatically entered in the ApacheCon Raffle, featuring thousands of dollars worth of computing equipment, peripherals, books, subscriptions, and more. In addition, wireless connectivity will be available free of charge throughout the conference.
Attendees can register online. Those that sign up by November 15 will save up to $200.
