I have gotten a few mails requesting information on creating a new registry key. So, here goes.
There are some needs for companies to have their own registry keys (for whatever reason). To create a registry key, follow these steps:
1. Go to the Run box and type regedt32, this will bring up your registry editor:
2. Next, decide where you want your new key to live and browse to that location. Then, click Edit/New/Key:
3. Next, you can name your key and then add its attributes and values. This is done through the same method as the creation of the registry key itself (Edit/New/....).
It is always smart to think through changes that you are going to make to your registry as corrupting it will prove deadly to the computer that you are on.
Let me know if there are any other How To's that you'd like to see.
